Sophie Ibbotson is the founder of Maximum Exposure Ltd, a consultancy specialising in tourism development and promotion for emerging destinations. She is a World Bank consultant (including for the bank’s Local & Regional Competitiveness Project in North Macedonia), and tourism advisor to the governments of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Sophie is the author of five guidebooks published by Bradt Travel Guides, and has also written for outlets such as Lonely Planet, The Telegraph, and The Economist.
